Today I'm reviewing Emily Tilton's hot BDSM tale Geoffrey's Rules.
Along with describing scenes of raw passion and strict punishment, Emily loves to explore the limits, the boundaries,
the why and even the why not behind BDSM
relationships. Geoffrey’s Rules
is a detailed, highly erotic account of one young woman’s journey from
forbidden desires to sometimes guilty fulfillment of her need to be taken in
hand by a dominant male.
Chloe is a young college student, a secret spanko devouring erotica alone in her bed, dreaming of
finding the perfect man who will fulfill all her submissive fantasies. Geoffrey is an intelligent, successful businessman who is also a forceful Dom and he makes no secret about it. When Chloe meets Geoffrey under embarrassing
circumstances, she discovers that she is intrigued by his frank assessment of
her as someone who needs to be punished for her shameful behavior - and that he's just the man to take on the job.
From the beginning, Geoffrey makes it clear
that strictly following his rules is Chloe's only role in their relationship and
he’s more than willing to punish her naughty bottom when she doesn’t. She finds herself leading a double life as a feisty, outspoken grad student who spends her weekends kneeling naked at the feet of a powerful, sometimes arrogant man. Over time she finds herself relishing her role as submissive, while being torn by her need to be treated as an equal
partner in the rest of their life together.
This is a long book and it delves into Chloe’s underlying
thoughts about being in a D/s relationship and what it means to her as a modern
woman making her own way in the world.
If you’re looking for light reading that you can skim through for the scenes
that get you hot, there are plenty of those.
But if you ever ask yourself why real women enter willingly into D/s relationships and how those relationships can work in the day-to-day world of business and home life, you'll be fascinated by the way the interactions between Chloe and Geoffrey grow and change over time.
